Welcome to sodablog, my creative space to share ideas, places I have been, things I have seen and things I would like to buy. I have been working in interiors for the last 8 years under various guises, starting on the style team at The Sunday Times Inside Out Magazine, thereafter as Houses Assistant at Elle Decoration with the great Kate Jacobs who now writes Interiorsnut blog. I then moved a couple of desks over to the Picture Desk and worked as Picture Editor, a role I loved, especially working on the project team for the Decoration bi-annual Elle Decoration interiors bible. It was bittersweet to leave Elle Decoration as I had found my creative home there, although I moved on to the more demanding role of being a mum to my first and gorgeous boy, Jake. However I was never far away from interiors, being married to interiors photographer Ben Anders, I was always on the look out for a house for him to shoot, which as a team we pitched to magazines. A few short freelance jobs later at magazines such as Coast and Real Homes it was time for my second little boy to arrive, Alfie. Did I mention that while all this was going on, we had bought a house in East Dulwich which we completely gutted and transformed from two flats back to a family house (still ongoing). Lots more house shoots and hours and hours of business ideas I have finally found a path which I must follow, to start a vintage and contemporary interiors shop, which we have named soda. This blog will be a big part of soda and I look forward to sharing lots of exciting soda news along the way.
